Story of the week

RADIO 4 IS BRINGING IT ALL BACK !

The station notices it is getting quite boring, and so they are tapping into the past and bringing in an Archive of the old presenter Alistair Cooke. Alistair Cooke is known for his dramatic story telling and his excellent presenting skills, he bought interesting stories to the radio show as seen first hand by himself.

My opinion - I think this is positive, technology is dramatically advancing and improving. By them making the archive accessible on-line , it will make it more reachable to a wider audience, by making an information and entertainment website it should be a  positive outcome.

  3. As Alistair Cookean is old presenter it might reignite the interest of the older target audience. It will provide them with the opportunity to use the current new media to bring back the past. It would gain the interest of the younger generation who inspire to have a career in broadcast, as he is a great icon for youngsters. I think this is a positive as it combines the past with the present and benefits all. Tim Davie, Director, BBC Audio & Music, says: “It is excellent news that we now have the technology to offer audiences the chance to hear the passion and dedication of the original broadcasts which continue to inspire programme makers to this day.” There will be 920 episodes available to download from the Radio 4 website. Tim Davie also adds “It’s fitting that we are launching this archive as we celebrate BBC Radio's 90th birthday.
